Out of sight for peace of mind - the new range of hidden connectors for Glulam launched.
At present the construction market isn't served by one cohesive range of Glulam construction connectors, which is where Simpson have stepped in, producing a 20 page supplementary catalogue to help designers and specifiers identify "off the shelf" products with CE approval, as opposed to locally sourced metalwork.

Following 18 months of research and preparation, the new range now enables connectors to do their job invisibly whilst showing off the timber at the same time. The core of the range is made up of concealed beam hangers, apex plates, anchor bolts/fastenings, face fix hangers and shear rings. The range is further supported by a rapid, made to order service for bespoke designed apex and knee plates.
With Glulam's associated green credentials, there has been a recent surge in public sector buildings, such as leisure centres and supermarket chains, opting to become ‘green' Glulam builds.
Simpson's head of Engineered Timber Division, Jon Head, said: "With the Construction Industry becoming ever more conscious of environmental issues, companies are taking a fresh look at building structures and carbon emissions. As it's a more sustainable material than steel, the Glulam range ensures that Simpson is making strong moves towards reaching this goal."
