* Refer to the Simpson Strong-Tie anchor product range for suitable anchors. Typical anchor solutions are SET-XP and AT-HP, depending on the concrete type, spacing and edge distances.
**The published characteristic capacity is based on medium term load duration and service class 2 according to EC5 (EN 1995). For other load duration and service class, please refer to the ETA to get more accurate capacities.
Installation
Installation
Installation
Timber install
- Place post in Post base
- Sit timber onto the post bases, and nail in the required nails into the side of the post through the holes provided
Fixing
Fixing Installation to Concrete
Mechanical Fixing
SST Recommended Fixings: FM753 3DG – M10x75 (code 75320c10075)
Recommended Concrete Pad Size: 300mm Wide x 300mm Long x 300mm Deep (see illustration below)
Recommended Concrete Grade: C25 (mixing ratio of 1:1.5:3 (Cement:Sharp Sand:Aggregate) with typically 0.5 water-cement ratio)
Installation Instructions:
- Position the post-base centrally on the concrete pad.
- Identify and mark out the position for the anchors.
- Drill holes perpendicular to the concrete surface, Ø10 x 70mm deep.
- Clean the dust from the holes 3 times using a brush, pump or vacuum. This is a crucial step.
- Reposition the post base and insert the anchors (tap gently with a hammer if needed) and use a torque wrench to tighten to the recommended installation torque of 50Nm
Resin Fixing
SST Recommended Fixings: LMAS M10x110 (code LMAS1016085010)
SST Recommended Resin: ATHP
Recommended Concrete Pad Size: 300mm Wide x 300mm Long x 300mm Deep (see illustration below)
Recommended Concrete Grade: C25 (mixing ratio of 1:1.5:3 (Cement:Sharp Sand:Aggregate) with typically 0.5 water-cement ratio)
Installation Instructions:
- Position the post-base centrally on the concrete pad.
- Identify and mark out the position for the anchors.
- Drill holes perpendicular to the concrete surface, Ø12 x 85mm deep.
- Clean the dust from the holes 3 times using a brush, pump or vacuum. This is a crucial step.
- Add Resin using dispenser and fill the hole half-way
- Remove nut and washer from anchors, then Insert the anchors carefully into the holes
- Once resin has hardened (check for a change in colour) reposition the post base over the top of the anchors, after carefully cleaning excess resin from the area
- Use a torque wrench to tighten to the recommended installation torque of 50Nm
PLEASE NOTE – Anchor performance will only be valid when using Simpson AT-HP Resin
